Master’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering

Master of Mechanical Engineer (on the corresponding module); Master of Mechatronics Engineer

After completing all the curricula provided in the curriculum for two semesters, the student who has chosen the Master’s thesis receives a certificate of the completed study program with 60 ECTS credits, namely a Master of Engineering in the appropriate module or a Master of Engineering in Mechatronics – 60 ECTS.

Master of Engineering and Master of Mechatronics Engineering are two different degrees in the field of engineering.

Master of Engineering Engineers typically focuses on a wide range of topics including mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical engineering, and materials. They are trained in the development, design, and production of mechanical systems, such as machines, equipment, and devices. Depending on the chosen direction, master engineers of mechanical engineering can focus on specific areas such as manufacturing, automotive engineering, aeronautics and astronautics, energy, and environment, or on the application of new materials and technologies.

On the other hand, a Master of Mechatronics Engineering combines knowledge from different areas of engineering, including mechanics, electronics, informatics, and automation. They specialize in the development of intelligent systems and automation, including robots and autonomous systems, and the integration of mechanical, electronic, and information components into a single whole.

So, Master of Engineering and Master of Mechatronics Engineering have different focus areas, and the choice between them depends on your interests and career goals. If you are interested in the design of mechanical systems, and not in the development of robotic systems, then a master of engineering would be a better choice for you. If you are interested in the development of intelligent systems and automation, then a master of engineering in mechatronics would be a better choice.
