TRAFFIC ENGINEERING (Road and Urban traffic)
The goals of the study program are to train graduate Road and Urban Traffic Engineers to successfully perform jobs in the field of Traffic Engineering.
A student who defends a thesis after passing all the subjects provided by the curriculum for eight semesters receives a certificate of completion of the study program with 240 ECTS credits, and a Bachelor in Traffic Engineering (Road or Urban) – 240 ECTS.
A student who defends a master’s thesis after passing all the subjects provided by the curriculum for two semesters receives a certificate of completion of the study program with 60 ECTS credits, namely a Master in Traffic Engineering (Road or Urban) – 60 ECTS.
A student who defends a doctoral dissertation after passing all the subjects provided by the curriculum for six semesters receives a certificate of completion of the study program with 180 ECTS credits, and becomes a Doctor of Philosophy in Traffic Engineering (Road or Urban) – 180 ECTS.
The study program TRAFFIC ENGINEERING has defined goals that lead to the formation of well-trained engineers, who have the necessary theoretical and rich practical knowledge and skills to perform their profession. Graduates of the Traffic Engineering study program are committed to continuing education, and are able to accept responsibility for the entrusted job efficiently, quickly and reliably upon admission to the job and throughout individual work or in a team, to give their full professional contribution to prosperity of environment or society as a whole. Thereby, the study program will be continuously analysed, compared with similar programs at other higher education institutions and constantly improved and enhanced.
The goals of the TRAFFIC ENGINEERING Study Program are aimed at students and include:
- Adoption of basic knowledge from disciplines that enable understanding and facilitate communication in general and communication with other professions and affirms the multidisciplinarity of working teams, to which Road traffic engineers of basic studies will be referred in the workplace.
- Acquisition of the necessary knowledge of information technology and computer skills in order to master the basic software packages used in general and business usage of computers.
- Mastering basic analytical techniques, processing and presentation of results and analysis in traffic. Training for fast and efficient involvement of graduates in the business process and efficient professional engagement in the workplace. Developing self-confidence and security of graduates in their knowledge and skills, and the ability for a critical and self-critical approach in thinking. Developing awareness of the need for continuing education and training throughout the professional career of graduates. Building professional ethics and responsibilities at work. High level of quality in teaching process in Traffic Engineering.
Appropriate subjects are included in the study program, the methodology of mastering general education, professional, and especially professional-applied subjects is developed through carefully selected auditory exercises, preparation of seminar papers, critical analysis and comparison of practical cases, etc. In doing so, the teaching process is based on understandably presented material and modern teaching aids available to the student: computers, the latest literature and direct contact with teachers and associates. Students make valuable direct contact with the business process through practical classes in business organizations, which completes the teaching process by enriching students with important practical knowledge and experience.
Teaching in the study program consists of lectures, auditory exercises, practical exercises, seminar papers, presentations, consultations, etc., which depends on the subject itself, the nature of its goals and expected outcomes.
