Students of all years and cycles of study of the Faculty of Business and Law are hereby notified that the “Legal Clinic”, a legal training program that provides direct legal experience to law students, will be held on 24.05. and 25.05.2024. (Friday and Saturday) at the University premises. At the same time, it is intended for various categories that need the provision of free legal advice. Legal clinics most often exist and aim to organize and work on a “pro bono” principle in certain legal matters, thereby providing free legal advice.
The Legal Clinic is an interactive method of educating law students. In this way, students acquire and master practical skills that they will need to perform their future professional activities competently, conscientiously, and with high moral standards. In addition to the practical-situational education of law students, which is the primary goal, legal clinics also play a very significant role in the community.
Namely, in every society, there is a smaller or larger part of the population that cannot afford a professional legal advisor, a lawyer, or appropriate legal assistance in solving everyday problems.
The Legal Clinic at our University will be organized with the active participation and presentation by students of the Faculty of Business and Law, under the supervision of professors.
We note that clinical legal education has two purposes: Practical skills and professional responsibility that students acquire, along with the opportunity to apply the law to real-life situations.
Within the Legal Clinic of the Faculty of Business and Law of the University "Privredna akademija" in Brčko District BiH, the following activities will be carried out:
- Simulation of the commission of a criminal offense and evidentiary actions to be undertaken by students and professors. (24.05.2024, starting at 10:00 AM, when only active participants will be present, about which they will be notified individually);
- Simulation of a court hearing for determining detention (25.05.2024, starting at 10:00 AM, in which judges, prosecutors, lawyers, professors, and certainly students of our faculty will take active part in the University Amphitheater).
