The Sports Recreation Association “Olympic Kids” from Brčko District and the “Privredna akademija” University from Brčko signed a memorandum of cooperation, establishing the foundations for improving practical teaching and professional development for students of physical education, sports coaches, and related fields.
The document was solemnly signed by the founder and representative of “Olympic Kids”, Mr. Dražen Mihajlović, and the Rector of the “Privredna akademija” University, Prof. Dr. Željko Petrić. The goal of this cooperation is to provide students with access to real working conditions in sports and recreational centers, thereby encouraging the connection of theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
“Through this collaboration, our students will have the opportunity to complete professional internships within the sports programs and activities implemented by the ‘Olympic Kids’ Association, thereby gaining valuable experience in the fields of sports, recreation, and working with children and youth,” stated Rector Prof. Dr. Željko Petrić.
The association’s representative, Dražen Mihajlović, highlighted the importance of involving young professionals in the work of sports and recreational programs:
“Our doors are open to all young people who wish to develop in a sporting and pedagogical sense. Through this collaboration, students will learn from experts, be part of teamwork, and also participate in the organization of sports activities and events, thereby directly preparing for future professional challenges in the field of sports and recreation.”
The memorandum also provides for the joint implementation of professional workshops, training, sports camps, and other forms of extracurricular learning, with the active involvement of coaches and experts from “Olympic Kids” in the University’s teaching and extracurricular activities.
This collaboration represents a significant step toward strengthening the quality of education in the field of physical education and sports, and contributes to better connectivity between the academic sector and sports practice in the Brčko District of BiH.
