On May 15, 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of the Government of Republika Srpska and the “Privredna akademija” University from Brčko, laying the foundations for long-term cooperation aimed at the development of society as a whole, with a special emphasis on the role of higher education institutions in contemporary social trends.

The memorandum was ceremonially signed by the Rector of the “Privredna akademija” University, Prof. Dr. Željko Petrić, and the Minister of Family, Youth and Sports, Selma Čabrić.

This cooperation provides for a series of joint activities and projects that will contribute to better integration of the educational system with other systems and organizations of social life, such as sports, youth and family institutions, non-governmental organizations, and relevant public institutions.

“Modern education must be socially responsible and connected to the real needs of the community. Through this collaboration, we are opening doors for the active participation of our students and professors in projects that contribute to the healthy development of youth, the promotion of sports, and the strengthening of family values,” emphasized Rector Petrić.

Minister Čabrić emphasized the importance of cooperation with higher education institutions in order to create a more functional and comprehensive social system:

“This Memorandum allows us to work together on projects that are of key importance for youth and the family, and to spread awareness through the academic community about the importance of sports, healthy lifestyles, and active civic participation.”

The cooperation will include organizing lectures, professional workshops, research projects, seminars, and conferences, as well as involving experts from the Ministry in the teaching and extracurricular process at the University, which will enable students to apply the knowledge they have acquired in concrete social contexts.

With this Memorandum, the “Privredna akademija” University and the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of the Government of Republika Srpska are laying the foundations for connecting knowledge, experience, and resources for the general progress of society and the improvement of the quality of life for young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
