The University Marked International Human Rights Day
On December 10, International Human Rights Day, the University “Privredna akademija” Brčko District BiH organized a lecture aimed at students, with the participation of members of the Alumni community. The event brought together alumni who are currently active in various professional fields, sharing practical experiences with students and discussing contemporary challenges in the protection and promotion of human rights.
“I am particularly pleased that we are marking International Human Rights Day—a day that reminds us all of our universal duty to respect the dignity, freedom, and equality of every individual—together with our alumni, former students of the University who today, in their professional roles, contribute to society and uphold the values they developed during their studies,” emphasized the University’s Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Esma Hasanbašić.
Alumni and students had the opportunity to exchange views on current challenges in the field of human rights, especially in the context of education, the digital environment, and the labor market. They also heard examples from the professional practice of alumni working across academic, business, and social sectors.
“As a University alumnus, it is a great honor to be part of the program on International Human Rights Day. I believe that education plays a key role in building a society that respects the dignity of every person,” said law graduate Marijana Đurić.
“It is an honor for me, as a University alumnus, to have had the opportunity to participate in marking International Human Rights Day. I believe it is the responsibility of all of us, especially those who have continued to build our careers on the knowledge acquired here, to contribute to the development of a culture that respects human rights,” stated Master of Primary Education Miloš Đurković.
This event once again highlighted the importance of collaboration between the University and its alumni, and how such cooperation can contribute to the quality of education and social development.
